The Coalition for Women's Leadership is a non-partisan organization dedicated to advancing women’s leadership in the political, civic and democratic life of PEI.

Vision

Women's political and civic involvement at all levels is equitable and as diverse as the population.

Values

• The PEI Coalition for Women's Leadership is a community-based organization that works to reduce the underrepresentation of women in decision-making.
• We believe that gender equity in decision-making results in more equitable policies and outcomes for all.
• To accomplish our mandate, the PEI Coalition for Women's Leadership addresses systemic and structural barriers to civic participation by women-identifying and marginalized people by empowering people with information, tools, and strategies to increase their involvement.
• The Coalition is committed to applying non-partisan, evidence-informed, intersectional feminist principles and processes.
• The Coalition supports the rights and empowerment of all women while understanding how women's overlapping identities—including race, class, ethnicity, religion, gender identity and sexual orientation—impact the way they experience oppression and discrimination.

Social Media Engagement Guidelines

The PEI Coalition for Women’s Leadership encourages respectful discussion, debate on policy issues, and active civic engagement, both in person and in online spaces. There are important distinctions between productive discourse and hate speech. Communications which violate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, including comments or posts inciting violence, discrimination, racism, sexism, disinformation, malinformation, or misinformation, will not be tolerated.

These guidelines apply to all communications across all Coalition social media platforms and messages received through the website. Communications include, but are not limited to: direct messages, post comments, voice messages, photo and/or post sharing, and emails. Individuals or groups who violate these guidelines may have their communications hidden or deleted. In instances where an account or person repeatedly violates these guidelines, their actions will result in grounds to block their profiles from future engagement.
